Goodbye lovely girl xx

I lost Betty a couple of weeks ago.

I was incredibly upset, which is why it's taken a while for me to mention it.
I threw myself into sorting out the new coop, pushing away thoughts that she was never going to be in it.
I struggle with her not being in the garden, as she has been here almost from the beginning.

My husband buried her next to Hattie during a snow storm.
He said now she was up there, Hattie could continue to get her daily peck.

It made me smile x

  1. Oh Rachy, I am so sorry! Betty was such a beautiful girl. I can tell how much she was loved and she knew it too. She and Hattie are up in Heaven with my girls I've lost having a grand old time right now. I bet they are best friends :)

  5. So sad. I am very lucky and have not lost a chicken yet. But then I have only had them for 8 months. I dread the day and hope it is a long, long away.
Good luck and I understand you holding off writing the post until you could cope better writing about it.
